Based on the latest FIFA's Professional Football Report, there are at least 3,903 professional clubs in existence worldwide. Soccer is truly an international sport with teams from all over the globe. FIFA

The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) founded in 1904, serves as the international governing body of soccer and is responsible for the organization of the sport worldwide. FIFA supports 211 affiliated associations through various programmes. 

These associations are responsible for representing FIFA in their countries and organizing football within their borders. According to FIFA's Professional Football Report published in 2019, there are at least 3,903 professional clubs in existence worldwide, involved within the sport at the highest level.

 This number is expected to grow in the coming years as soccer continues to gain popularity around the globe. As of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, 79 national teams have competed in the final tournaments with Qatar set to make its debut in 2022. This will bring the total number of participating countries up to 80. Soccer is a truly global sport with teams from all corners of the world competing at the highest level.

UEFA

The Union of European Football Associations, or UEFA, is the governing body for soccer in Europe. UEFA is made up of 55 member associations, representing 220 clubs from across the continent. The organization works to promote, protect and develop European football at all levels. 

In addition to organizing some of the world's most famous soccer competitions, such as the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, UEFA also oversees the EURO tournament and the FIFA World Cup.

The World Cup

The FIFA World Cup is the most prestigious soccer tournament in the world, and it features 32 of the best teams from around the globe. These teams are drawn into eight groups of four, and they compete in a round-robin format to determine which two teams will advance to the knockout stage. The winner of the World Cup receives a gold trophy that is named after Jules Rimet, the man who proposed the tournament back in 1930.
